Infusing Your Wedding with a Yiddishn Tahm

Because Jewish identity is about more than just a prayer book.

Your love story doesn’t fit into a single box.

So why should your ceremony?

You might not step foot in a synagogue, but you feel the pull of your heritage in the kitchen, in the jokes, and in the deep value placed on Mishpokhe (family). You want a wedding that feels "Jewish" because it feels like home.

At Mazel Tov Moments, I specialise in "Cultural Translation." I help you bring the warmth and wisdom of Yiddish culture into your ceremony without the weight of religious dogma.

Let's Create Your Mazel Tov Moment!

Mameloshn: The Language of the Heart

Yiddish is more than just words to me; it is the soundtrack of my life. I grew up speaking Yiddish with my grandparents, and my education at Sholem Aleichem College and SKIF gave me a deep, lifelong connection to our secular cultural roots.

Whether you want to include a specific ritual in Yiddish, a meaningful reading, or just sprinkle a few "heart words" throughout the ceremony to honour your Buba or Zayda, I am well-versed in weaving our beautiful Mame-loshn into your modern celebration. We use the "old world" warmth to celebrate your "new world" love.

My ceremonies often incorporate the beautiful concepts of:

  • Mishpokhe (Family): Acknowledging that a wedding isn't just two people, but two families (and a whole community) coming together.

  • Seykhl (Wisdom): Crafting vows and promises that aren't just poetic, but grounded in the real, wise foundation of your relationship.

  • Simcha (Joy): Ensuring the atmosphere is one of genuine, infectious celebration.

For the Culturally Connected Couple

If you want the Chuppah, the Ketubah, and the Mazel Tov, but you want the words spoken to reflect your modern, secular lives, you’ve found your celebrant. We’ll skip the "shpilkes" (nerves) and go straight to the meaningful moments that will have your guests talking for years.

Testimonials

Rasi

My partner and I wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for the incredible job you did as our wedding celebrant. Your warmth, professionalism, and humour added a special touch to our ceremony that we and our guests will cherish forever.

We truly had a wonderful time. Thank you again for being a part of our special day and for making it so extraordinary.

Danielle

Thank you so very much for your wonderful service and fabulous ceremony. We were all filled with overwhelming joy during and after the ceremony! And particularly thank you for your patience with my parents, who don’t speak English. It was very much appreciated!

Julian

Me and my partner were extremely happy with the service Devorah the celebrant provided on our wedding day at Johnny's Greenroom rooftop. She was highly professional, and gave us all the time we needed to set everything up with her PA system which worked perfectly for the ceremony and for our speeches. I would 100% recommend her service to my friends or anyone else who is getting married. Thank you so much you really made our day amazing!
